CARTER TERRY NAMED NATIONAL QUALIFIER IN REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
Pine Tree Speech and Debate competed at the UIL Region Tournament of the National Speech and Debate Association February 23-25. This tournament is a national qualifying tournament that sends the top finishers in each event to the national tournament.
Carter was able to finish above 34 other Lincoln-Douglas debaters from the strongest academic public and private schools in North East Texas.
This is only the 4th time Pine Tree has qualified for the national tournament in the history of the program. The last time we qualified was in 2019.
Carter will travel to Phoenix, AZ in June to compete in the largest speech and debate tournament in the world. There will be over 6000 competitors and 2000 schools.
