The Longview Police Department's School Resource Unit will host its annual Explorer Academy on June 5 -9 at Spring Hill Jr High located at 3101 Spring Hill Road. This academy will be 5 full days of hands-on police style training and education. No cost to cadets. Contact Officer Josh Marrs at 903-331-2858 for early registration and information.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor awarded to a former student of Pine Tree ISD. The award, sponsored by The Pine Tree Education Foundation recognizes former students who have made significant contributions to society and whose accomplishments and careers have brought honor and distinction to Pine Tree ISD. Congratulations to PT Pirates Juliana Sims and Ariana Phelps for becoming medalists at the 2023 Texas High School Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) competition! These incredible students are part of 2000 student artworks that earned a state medal out of 3100 state participants. Both received perfect scores!
These artworks and many more will be on display Thursday, May 11 at the Parkway Elementary Art Show from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. located at 601 PT Parkway. #pirateproud

It was a full night of celebrations at the Pine Tree Board Meeting on May 8th. Thank you to Pine Tree students in the Aspire Mentoring Program for leading our pledges. Our Above and Beyond recipients were Sam Williams, Ashley Petersen, Jeannie Williams, Clayton Skinner, Alisha Vidaurri and Terri Davis. Our Leadership3 participants were also recognized for their participation and hard work. Coach Angel Rocha, Boys Soccer, was recognized for 100 wins, Coach Lacy Dennis, Girls Volleyball, for 100 wins and Coach Chris Yoder, Girls Soccer, 200 wins. Student recognitions included Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) winners and UIL state qualifiers . #pirateproud #wearewinners #ptcelebrations
