Pine Tree ISD will host Family Financial Fun Night on Tuesday, April 1st at Pine Tree Middle School to kick off National Financial Literacy Month. This event is geared specifically toward middle school students and their families and is a key initiative to raise awareness about financial wellness and provide valuable resources to our community. Sponsored by Susan Doty, Executive Director of the UT Tyler Center for Economic Education and Financial Literacy. We will provide free dinner, door prizes, and engaging financial literacy activities at no cost to families.

Congratulations to our HOSA Competitors who performed exceptionally well at the HOSA Area Competition in Tyler. Pine Tree competed against 1A-6A schools across 34 counties. PT Competitors include: Brookelynn Shipman, Clinical Specialty Olivia Goodman, Sports Medicine Kristyn Edwards, Extemporaneous Writing Joslyn Silva, Prepared Speaking The Pine Tree HOSA Chapter is advised by Angel Cubine and Allison Ellis.

The high school robotics program took a tour of Gap Distribution Center in Longview. It was exciting to see robotics, automation, and programming on a large scale. We appreciate GAP and Longview Economic Development Corp (LEDCO) for helping us connect the skills our students practice to rewarding and fulfilling career paths!

Pine Tree is pleased to announce the 2025-2026 application process for CEER Academy. This project-based learning pathway is in its fifth year of implementation serving students in grades 1-8. Pine Tree Wins 2nd Place Sweepstakes in Hallsville UIL Tournament of Hearts UIL. We have had a lot of UIL wins lately! We couldn't pass up sharing this win from February. Congratulations!

Pine Tree Students Awarded Medals at Regional VASE Competition Congratulations to Pine Tree HS senior Juliana Sims. Juliana’s necklace, which she titled “Lacerta viridis,” was awarded an area medal, and Juliana will compete in the state level Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) contest in April. Juliana designed her necklace from bronze plates, bronze and silver wire, and green resin. The necklace is the first jewelry artwork from Pine Tree to advance to the state level. Pine Tree students earned 39 regional gold medals, and five students earned double regional medals. In addition to exhibiting their artwork, students also participate in a juror interview to defend their artistic choices. PTHS Art teachers Caity Rutledge, Carmen Gadt, Carly Garcia, and Wayne Gaddis are extremely proud of all of their students for representing Pine Tree High School with this amazing accomplishment. On Tuesday, March 4th, the Pine Tree High School Varsity Choir, led by Danielle Warren, traveled to Mount Pleasant, Texas, to compete in the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading competition. The choir earned a first-division rating from all six judges, achieving a superior sweepstakes award.

A friendly reminder, all campuses and district offices at Pine Tree ISD will be closed for Spring Break from Monday, March 10th, to Friday, March 14th. Classes will resume on Monday, March 17th. Have a great Spring Break!
