Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library puts books into the hands and hearts of children across the worldDPIL. Greater Longview United Way partners with the Imagination Library to provide a hand-selected, age-appropriate, high-quality book each month to registered children from birth to age five. We are currently offering this program to those that live in Gregg County. The National Assessment of Educational Progress found “that students who report having more books in their homes performed better academically. Specifically, while less than 15 percent of students with between 0 and 10 books scored proficient in 2015, 50 percent of students with more than 100 books did.” This is why we are proud to be an affiliate to help children obtain engaging books in their homes at no cost. If a child signs up for the Imagination Library at birth, they will have accumulated a personal library of 60 books by the time they graduate from the program on their 5th birthday. Greater Longview United Way believes that Dolly Parton's Imagination Library will further our educational mission: “to provide educational opportunities to individuals of all ages, concerning life skills that will assist in making well-informed choices towards a successful life.” Sign up Here: https://www.longviewunitedway.org/dpil

We understand that you are not always able to share details and that’s okay. If your child is coming to school after a difficult night, morning or weekend, please message your child’s teacher “Handle with Care”. Nothing else will be said or asked. This will let us know that your child may need extra time, patience, or help during the day. How do I let my child’s teacher know we’re experiencing difficulties at home? Pine Tree ISD will resume normal school hours on Thursday, January 18th. Join us tomorrow evening at Expedition 2024, a community event that will showcase Pine Tree from 6pm - 8pm at Maude Cobb Convention Center, 100 Grand Blvd. We are excited to see our students and staff back on campus and we can't wait to showcase PT at Expedition 2024!

Pine Tree is hosting a Job Fair during Expedition 2024 on Thursday, January 18 from 6pm-8pm at Maude Cobb Convention Center. This is your opportunity to apply in person, network with teachers, staff and administration, connect with our Human Resource team and discover what Pine Tree has to offer. We can't wait to meet you!
