For the 2nd year, the dynamic duo of Travis Johnson and Aiden McQueary medaled at the UIL CX Debate State Meet held on the UT-Austin campus March 15-16. The team placed 5th out of 56 teams under the coaching guidance of Alyx Dickson. According to the UIL website, the purpose of cross-examination (CX) debate is to “train the student to analyze a problem, conduct thorough and relevant research, and utilize principles of argumentation and advocacy in orally presenting the most effective case for or against a given proposition.” Congratulations Aiden and Travis! Go Pirates!
