Pine Tree Students Awarded Medals at Regional VASE Competition
Congratulations to Pine Tree HS senior Juliana Sims. Juliana’s necklace, which she titled “Lacerta viridis,” was awarded an area medal, and Juliana will compete in the state level Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) contest in April. Juliana designed her necklace from bronze plates, bronze and silver wire, and green resin. The necklace is the first jewelry artwork from Pine Tree to advance to the state level.
Pine Tree students earned 39 regional gold medals, and five students earned double regional medals. In addition to exhibiting their artwork, students also participate in a juror interview to defend their artistic choices.
PTHS Art teachers Caity Rutledge, Carmen Gadt, Carly Garcia, and Wayne Gaddis are extremely proud of all of their students for representing Pine Tree High School with this amazing accomplishment. Congratulations to the following medalists:

A friendly reminder, all campuses and district offices at Pine Tree ISD will be closed for Spring Break from Monday, March 10th, to Friday, March 14th. Classes will resume on Monday, March 17th. Have a great Spring Break!


On Tuesday, March 4th, the Pine Tree High School Varsity Choir, led by Danielle Warren, traveled to Mount Pleasant, Texas, to compete in the UIL Concert and Sight-Reading competition. The choir earned a first-division rating from all six judges, achieving a superior sweepstakes award.
