PTHS senior Harper Jones has been named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These 34,000 along with the 16,000 National Merit Semifinalists, make up the top 50,000 scores in the nation on a National Merit qualifying test. Approximately 1.3 million juniors took this qualifying test last year. "Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokesperson for National Merit Scholarship Corporation. "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."

Pine Tree Speech and Debate Add to Their Coffers at Lindale Tournament.

Pine Tree ISD is the host school for the annual Global Maker Day on Tuesday, October 17th! Connect virtually and watch makers around the world share different projects, learning spaces, creations, coding, 3D designs, art lessons, etc. There will be a session every half hour, and they each will have a connected challenge. Saturday, September 23rd members of the Pine Tree High School choir, under the direction of Danielle Warren, traveled to Sulphur Springs HS to compete for a spot in the Region IV - All-Region Choir. The following members advanced and will perform at Mt.
