Pine Tree High School's Culinary Arts students made an impressive showing at the recent State Fair of Texas Youth Cooking Competition on October 14 in Dallas. These students participated in various baking categories, showcasing their culinary skills and creativity.
The competition results are as follows:
Crystal Moreno: Secured 1st Place in Drop Cookies with her entry, Pumpkin Cheesecake Drop Cookies.
Brianna Herrada: Achieved 3rd Place in the White/Yellow Cake category with her creation, Fresh Fruit Chantilly Cream Cake.
Sydney Lloyd: Claimed 1st Place in the Chocolate Cake category.
Emma Weedon: Earned 3rd Place in the Chocolate Cake category.
Notably, the winning recipes of these students will be featured in next year's State Fair of Texas Creative Arts Cookbook, an acknowledgment of their culinary talents.
Competing in the Youth-Junior division, these Pine Tree High School students faced stiff competition, with over 200 entries from aspiring chefs across the state.
Pine Tree ISD is proud of all participating students' accomplishments and culinary achievements. As they continue to develop their culinary skills, the future holds promise for these budding chefs.
The Culinary Program is under the direction of Chefs Gina Franklin and Jamie Hudman.

Pine Tree Theatre announces the dates for their fall production.
LONGVIEW, Texas (Pine Tree Theatre) — Pine Tree High School Theatre Department is proud to announce its fall production of “Stud Ducks and Horny Toads” by H. Russ Brown.
“Stud Ducks and Horny Toads” follows the misadventures of Milton Day and his grandson, Russell, as they blaze a trail across West Texas in this All-American comedy of warmth, wit, family, and taxidermied lizards. The play is a comedy filled with heartwarming family moments, over-the-top characters and exciting chase scenes with a wonderful holiday backdrop.
The play premiers on Thursday, November 9, at 6:30 pm. The premier will be followed by performances on Saturday, November 11, at 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm; Sunday, November 12, at 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm and the final performance on Monday, November 13, at 6:30 pm. The play is produced by special arrangement with Next Stage Press, Inc.
