Wanna see something awesome?Today some of our Visually Impaired Students from Pine Tree participated in an ECC Event with artist John Bramblitt. After losing his sight Mr. Bramblitt decided to pick up a paintbrush. Participants were led through a multisensory workshop where they learned how to create and experience art using all of their senses.  Students painted with input from taste, touch, and smell.#RaiseTheFlag #PTFamily

PINE TREE HIGH SCHOOL DECA CLUB EARNS ACHIEVEMENT LEVEL RECOGNITION The Pine Tree DECA chapter is one of approximately 1,300 chapters internationally to earn achievement or thrive level through DECA’s chapter campaign program. Our chapter is to be commended on its efforts to showcase the impact that DECA has in preparing your school’s emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for college and career success. Pine Tree DECA earned the Achievement Level receiving a pennant and certificate. To earn this level, Pine Tree DECA participated in a street cleanup project and a project to help The Dream Center in Longview. The group also completed a promotional campaign, promoting our club to three different groups, meeting with three different officials and making posters to promote their DECA club. As a Career and Technical Student Organization, DECA has had a positive impact on the college and career readiness of our youth for over 75 years by providing meaningful connections among the school, community and business partners. DECA’s mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. Through DECA’s Comprehensive Learning Program, students are engaged in experiential learning methods and authentic activities relating to careers in marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality and management. DECA’s programs are aligned with National Curriculum Standards and support 21st Century Skills, Common Core Standards and Common Career Technical Core Standards. DECA chapters that earned Thrive Level in the membership campaign or chapter campaigns will receive a pennant, flag and plaque and are eligible to register up to three DECA members to participate in the Thrive Academy at this year’s International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida. If a chapter earned Thrive Level in both the membership campaign and chapter campaign, it can send up to six DECA members to participate in the Thrive Academy.
