Pine Tree Theatre announces the dates for their fall production.
LONGVIEW, Texas (Pine Tree Theatre) — Pine Tree High School Theatre Department is proud to announce its fall production of “Stud Ducks and Horny Toads” by H. Russ Brown.
“Stud Ducks and Horny Toads” follows the misadventures of Milton Day and his grandson, Russell, as they blaze a trail across West Texas in this All-American comedy of warmth, wit, family, and taxidermied lizards. The play is a comedy filled with heartwarming family moments, over-the-top characters and exciting chase scenes with a wonderful holiday backdrop.
The play premiers on Thursday, November 9, at 6:30 pm. The premier will be followed by performances on Saturday, November 11, at 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm; Sunday, November 12, at 2:30 pm and 6:30 pm and the final performance on Monday, November 13, at 6:30 pm. The play is produced by special arrangement with Next Stage Press, Inc.

Rory Steyn, former bodyguard to Nelson Mandela, was a guest speaker at Pine Tree High School this morning. Mr. Steyn served Mandela for five years as a member of Mandela's personal protection team. Mr. Steyn spoke on hope, reconciliation and service. #pths

Last year, our Pirate Santa program helped more than 170 Pine Tree students have a wonderful Christmas! Proceeds from the sales of our Christmas shirts are donated to our Pirate Santa program. Order your shirt today by filling out the Google Form or visit any campus for an order form by Friday, October 20th. The shirts are on a blue long sleeve and come in both adult and youth sizes. Adult shirts are $25-$30 and youth shirts are $20. PTHS senior Harper Jones has been named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. These 34,000 along with the 16,000 National Merit Semifinalists, make up the top 50,000 scores in the nation on a National Merit qualifying test. Approximately 1.3 million juniors took this qualifying test last year.
"Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success," commented a spokesperson for National Merit Scholarship Corporation. "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."
Pine Tree Speech and Debate Add to Their Coffers at Lindale Tournament.
Pine Tree ISD is the host school for the annual Global Maker Day on Tuesday, October 17th! Connect virtually and watch makers around the world share different projects, learning spaces, creations, coding, 3D designs, art lessons, etc. There will be a session every half hour, and they each will have a connected challenge.
