Students in Our Community Who Make a Difference - Cody Cannon, Georgia Scott, and Van Tran
Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the forty-fifth anniversary of the Longview Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2022-2023 Student Board.
Cody Cannon, son of Ginger and Ron Cannon, is a senior at Longview High School. He is a co-editor-in-chief for the yearbook and a member of the student council. Outside of school, Cody enjoys spending time with friends, music, shopping, and caring for animals. Cody believes he is impacting the world by putting smiles on the faces of his customers at a coffee shop and by caring for the needs of animals at a local animal shelter. He plans to attend Baylor University and study business and digital marketing. Cody’s future goals include working in the real estate industry.
Georgia Scott, daughter of Daphne and Blake Scott, is a senior at Trinity School of Texas. She is the president of the student council and a member of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of the Spanish National Honor Society, Z-Club, beautification club, Health Occupations Students of America, and the cross-country and track teams. Georgia believes she is impacting the world by encouraging younger female athletes to give their best, knowing their athletic ability is not limited by societal stereotypes. Georgia’s future goals include attending Vanderbilt University and attending law school.
Van Tran, daughter of Van Le and Tan Tran, is a senior at Pine Tree High School. She is the secretary for the Pine Tree Precision Drill Team and a member of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of the Peer Assistance and Leadership Students, Interact Club, leadership club, and the theater club. Van believes she is impacting the world by setting a positive example for others and encouraging them to act in a way that benefits others. She plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and study accounting. Van’s future goals include working as an accountant and a financial math teacher.
