Pine Tree High School is brimming with pride after its SkillsUSA competitors delivered an outstanding performance at the District 5 competition held at Texas State Technical College in Waco. Demonstrating remarkable skill and dedication, a substantial number of students have secured their spots at the State SkillsUSA Competition in Corpus Christi this April.

District 5 Highlights: Pine Tree's Top Performances

The students of Pine Tree High School showcased their talents across a broad spectrum of categories, resulting in numerous victories and state qualifications.

State-Bound Achievements:

  • Carpentry: Omar Aguilar claimed 1st place, while Jonathan Paz secured 2nd, both advancing to state.

  • Cabinetmaking: Dax McCain earned 1st place and a spot at the state competition.

  • Automotive Service Technology: Alexis Klein took 1st place, qualifying for state.

  • Wedding Cake Design: The team of Olivia Sessions and Audrey Jenkins captured 1st place, advancing to state.

  • Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair: Aiden Alvey achieved 2nd place, earning a state qualification.

  • Job Interview: Olivia Sessions also secured 2nd place in Job Interview, heading to state.

  • Video News Production: The Pine Tree HS team of C. Daniels, J. Lusk, L. Schroeder, and A. Yoeung earned 1st place and state qualification.

  • Automotive Quiz Bowl: The Pine Tree HS team of K. Webb, J. Montoya, B. Castro, A. Alvey, A. Klein, C. De Los Santos, and J. Rodriguez achieved 2nd place and state qualification.

Further Recognition:

  • Additionally, 26 student projects earned a superior blue ribbon rating and will be showcased at the state competition.

  • In the Automotive Tool Identification event, Cesia De Los Santos and Ryder Snow both placed in the top 10.

  • The Culinary Arts Quiz Bowl team consisting of J. Reeves, B. Herrada, O. Sessions, B. Bigham, E. Perales, and M. Foster earned 3rd place.

  • Another Pine Tree Video News production team of M. Staeheli, S. Moyer, K. Minor, and K. Fowler also earned 3rd place.
