                            Gmail Quickstart Guide

The process to start using your gmail account is very easy. The following steps will provide information on how to log into your account.

 If you use Internet Explorer, Firefox,or Safari follow these steps:

    1. Type in www.gmail.com in your browser.
    
    2. On the right side find the Sign in box. Sign in using the same username you had in Outlook.       (e.g.,[email protected])

    3. The default password to use was given to all staff via a handout. If this is the first time you've logged on, you will be asked to change your password. You can use the same password you used in Outlook. Although, it will require that you add one more character to complete the password change.
                
    
4.  If you want to send out an email, you will select Compose tab at the left. Enter the contact name you want to send the email to and just like in Outlook you select Send once you are done. 

                                     
                All contacts and calendars will migrate over from Outlook to Gmail.




If you have CHROME installed follow these steps
:

    1. If you use Chrome you have several Apps on the home page, choose Gmail. 

    2. Sign in using the same username you used in Outlook.(e.g. [email protected])

    3. The default password will be the same that was given in the handouts. It will prompt you to change your password. You may use the same password you used in Outlook, you will be required to add one more character to complete the password change.
    
    4. Once signed in you will see new emails.

    5. If you want to send out an email, you will select Compose tab at the left. Enter the contact name you want to send the email to and just like in Outlook you select Send once you are done.

Using Google Chrome will make navigating to your Gmail account, Docs, and Drive much faster and easier. If you do not already have Chrome installed, here is the link you can go to to download it:

When you download Chrome you will be asked to make it your default browser. If you decide not to, you must uncheck the check box asking make Chrome default browser. You will see this after you select Download. If you would like Chrome to be your default browser, then you must adjust the Settings to allow pop ups from Skyward and other programs we use. Any change you make to your browser you must go to SETTINGS. Settings is located at the top right of the website.
