P.A.C.E. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS from A to Z

Absences

In the event of an illness the parent/guardian must contact the Principal's office before 8:05 a.m. The phone number is 903-295-5130. Absences will be verified before becoming excused. Unexcused absences and no calls consist of truancy. Truancy is grounds for dismissal from P.A.C.E.



Appointments

Appointments with medical professionals or court officers during school hours are strongly discouraged. In the event these appointments cannot be avoided, absences must be pre-arranged with the principal's office.



Arrival to School

Students must arrive and check in at the front of the building between 7:45 - 8:00 a.m. only. Students arriving after 8:00 a.m. will not be admitted without approval by the Principal's office. Students will not be allowed to enter the building until 7:45 a.m. All students arriving before that time will be required to stay on the grounds until check in time.

Socializing on campus grounds before and/or after school is prohibited. Students admitted by Principal's approval after 8:00 a.m. will be required to stay after 3:15 p.m. to make up their time.



Communication

While at P.A.C.E., students are not permitted to communicate and/or interact with other students in any manner for any reason. The only exception to this rule would be if the teacher supervised the communication and interaction. These activities must be principal approved. Communication means letters, talking, hand signs, or gestures.



Dress Code

All students at P.A.C.E. must adhere to the dress code which follows:

  • A white shirt with standard sleeves (T-shirt or dress shirt) that is free of logos, holes, and is not in need of repair. Shirts are to be worn properly. Shirts turned inside out will not be permitted. Shirts must be tucked completely into the pants (no blousing) at all times. Shirt with buttons must be properly buttoned.
  • A pair of black or blue or khaki full length denim jeans that fit snugly and are supported at the waist by a belt. The jeans must be free of inappropriate logos, patches, and in need of repair. No holes anywhere are permitted.
  • Excessively baggy, over-sized, and/or sagging jeans will not be permitted or tolerated. Short, overalls and coveralls are not allowed.
  • A pair of closed toed shoes with soft soles is to be worn with socks. Shoes requiring laces and/or straps must be laced and/or strapped. House shoes, bathing shoes, sandals, and shoes of similar types are not allowed.
  • The following items are not to be worn to P.A.C.E.- Hats, caps, head-wear of any nature, jewelry of any type, bandannas, and any gang related items and other inappropriate items.
  • Tattoos or body markings must be covered. Haircuts with etching are not allowed. Rainbow hair color is not allowed.
  • All students are expected to practice proper hygiene habits and wear clean clothing. Belts are required--no sags allowed.

Violations of the dress code may result in the student being sent home.

Repeated violations of the dress code will result in dismissal.



General Behavior

  • Students will follow the PTISD Student Code of Conduct in addition to P.A.C.E. guidelines.
  • Students are not permitted to use the phone unless they are sick.
  • Restroom breaks are taken by classes at assigned times.
  • Students are not allowed in areas outside the classroom without supervision.
  • No Chewing gum is allowed at P.A.C.E.
  • Marking on walls and cubicles or defacing of school property will result in fines or dismissal from P.A.C.E.


Lunch

Students may bring a lunch, purchase a school lunch, or use a free or reduced lunch ticket. Students will not be permitted to have lunch delivered from outside sources. Drinks must be in cans or plastic container, unopened. Lunches should not require a microwave. Breakfast is not served after 8:00 a.m..



Personal Items

Before entering the building students must be in uniform. Prohibited items are not to be brought to the school. Prohibited items brought into the building will be confiscated and held until the completion of the students' assignment.

All personal items will be deposited with the office for safety and security reasons. At departure personal items will be returned to the students.

Large sums of money should not be brought to P.A.C.E. Students are subject to random searches throughout the day.

All electronic devices will be confiscated and returned to the parents only.


School Assignments

Students are not permitted to attend or visit their home campus for any reason while attending P.A.C.E. Students are not permitted to attend any activities that their sending district participates in either at the home school or at other schools.

A students' assignment may be lengthened or terminated if the student does not make acceptable progress and/or behavior modifications.

A students' assignment may be lengthened or terminated if the student does not meet the required 90% attendance. Excessive absences may result in removal from P.A.C.E.



School Schedule

The length of the school day is from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. Students must be off school grounds by 3:10 p.m.



Supplies

Students are required to bring their own supplies, # 2 pencils. Pens are not allowed at P.A.C.E.



Transportation

P.A.C.E. does not provide transportation for students. Parents are responsible for transportation. Students who drive will park at the front entrance to the building in the parking lot. Student drop-off and pick up are at the front office.

(Students that drive will be expected to turn in keys to the office. When school is dismissed, or the student is to leave school, the keys will be returned.)
