Destruction of Special Education Records Notice

Pine Tree ISD proposes to destroy Special Education records of students who were removed from the program or who graduated from Pine Tree ISD within the academic year 2009-2010. This purge of records for this particular academic year is in keeping with Texas Education Agency guidelines which require school districts to keep Special Education records for a period of seven years. Parents of or former Special Education students with records on file for that year should notify the Educational Resource Center at Pine Tree ISD at 903-295-5170, ext 121 by June 3, 2017, if they wish to obtain those records or wish those records to be retained. It is our responsibility to inform you that such records may be needed for Social Security Benefits or other purposes and that it would be to your benefit to obtain them.
