Children have always been an important part of my life. Teaching Bible School, babysitting, and watching my grandparents who both retired from the Texas Public School  System.  I loved getting up and riding the bus with my grandfather and then spending the day with my grandmother in her classroom, never once did I think teaching was in my stars. Then in 1996 my life was forever changed when I became a mother.  I watched him learn and grow, and by the time he was in Kindergarten, all I wanted to do was watch that light come on for children the rest of my life.

Prior to working in education, my family and I owned a bridal company, tuxedo shops, flower shop, candy store, and restaurant. The decision to sell the family business which I had managed for the last 17 ½ years and go back to school was a hard one but well worth it..

After receiving my Bachelors of Science in Education at East Texas Baptist University, I went on to teach second, third, and fifth grades in Jefferson, Marshall, Waskom, and now  seventh grade here at Pine Tree.

I have one biological son, Tanner, one daughter Sandra, and my extended children, Cari, Tavion, Louise, and Colby. Last but not least 5 beautiful Grandchildren.  I live in Marshall and am privileged to have my parents in the house with me as of April.

I look forward to many successful years with Pine Tree ISD.
